Instructor/ Assistant Professor in Computer Information/Cyber Security Systems

Position Summary
The University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Tx seeks a full-time Instructor or Assistant Professor for the Computer Information/Cyber Security Systems program within the School of Media & Design.

This position is considered a Responsible Employee under Title IX federal regulations and Mandatory Reporter under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.



Essential Functions
-Responsibilities for the Instructor or Assistant Professor for Computer Information/Cyber Security Systems include advising and mentoring students;
-Specific duties for this position would include teaching undergraduate courses related to Cyber Security Systems or Computer Information Systems and working with other faculty and staff to advance the program;
-Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service and professional activities. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission.

Required Education
Doctorate (Assistant Professor) or a Masters (Instructor) in Computer Information Systems, Cyber Security Systems, Computer Science or closely related field with at least 18 graduate hours in the discipline

Required Work Experience
-Previous teaching experience at the college/university level in Computer Information Systems or closely related field;
-Experience with open-source computer security, penetration testing, forensic tools, and programming

Preferred Qualifications
-Professional certifications in the field;
-Recent computer industry experience and strong programming skills;
-Three or more (3+) years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level in Computer Information Systems or a closely related field;
-Linux;
-Computer security or forensic certifications
