Position Summary:
The position is a nine-month (academic year), non-tenure track faculty position in the Department of Biological Sciences. The instructor is expected to teach in-person, undergraduate level lecture and laboratory courses in biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, or related topics, depending on the needs of the department. Rank of Senior Instructor is negotiable based on experience. In addition to developing and teaching courses, supervising graduate teaching assistants, and holding office hours, this position is expected to participate in departmental faculty meetings and outreach activities. They will be encouraged to seek professional development opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- M.S. degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related field from an accredited institution.
For Rank of Instructor
- Experience teaching.
- Experience communicating both verbally and in writing.
For Rank of Senior Instructor
- At least 3 years experience teaching biochemistry, microbiology, or similar courses at the college level.
- Experience developing course plans and materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or equivalent in Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related field.
- Experience using computer software for course management or data management and analysis.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching by student and/or supervisor evaluation.
- Prior participation in career development opportunities that support teaching excellence.
