Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Biomedical Statistician to join our team, working with several Adult Division faculty members on a range of research studies. These include investigator-initiated studies, industry-sponsored studies, and non-profit-sponsored studies from organizations such as the National Institutes of Health, Helmsley Charitable Trust, JDRF, and the American Diabetes Association. The primary focus of these studies is the etiology, treatment, and complications of type 1 diabetes. As part of the data management and analytics team, the statistician will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing data to support these important research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
The position will be responsible for planning and conducting statistical analysis and reporting for investigators including, but not limited to work on grants, abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts.
- Planning and performing statistical analysis for complex epidemiological studies
- Contributing to development of research questions, design of analysis plans, and drafting manuscripts
- Using analytic software to merge data from a variety of sources and formats
- Designing data cleaning plans from original source through all integration points with other data
- Designing and implementing data quality assurance plans
- Maintaining accurate documentation (codebooks and crosswalk-documents) of all processes
- Performing statistical analyses and generating automated reporting templates using SAS or other software
- Running and modifying R and/or Python programs to analyze large sets of data on diabetes technology data, such as continuous glucose monitoring and insulin dosing.
- Contributing to development of research questions, design of analysis plans, and drafting manuscripts for peer-review publications and grant and contract proposals
- Participating in statistical analysis training classes and seminars to assure analysis techniques are up to date and that our team is utilizing current modeling technologies, formats and software
- Providing mentoring for investigators, research staff, and student analysts in study design and statistical analysis
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor or Senior Instructor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Instructor:
- Master's degree in Biostatistics or related field (e.g. epidemiology)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a biostatistician
- Previous experience with Statistical Analysis System (SAS) and/or R.
Sr. Instructor:
- Master's degree in Biostatistics or related field (e.g. epidemiology)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a biostatistician
- Previous experience with Statistical Analysis System (SAS) and/or R.
- At least 5 years of experience at Instructor rank (or equivalent position)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience collaborating on peer-reviewed publications and/or grant proposals
- Three years of experience managing and analyzing complex-sample databases and large multi-year studies
- Experience in statistical analysis in a research setting
- Advanced knowledge of Statistical Analysis System (SAS) and R.
- Programming experience in Python
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, implement, and coordinate complex data management and statistical analysis activities.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with medical, professional, administrative, and other personnel.
- Proficiency in presenting information both orally and in written form to internal and external stakeholders.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
Instructor: $85,000 - $95,000
Sr. Instructor: $95,000 - $110,000
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
