Salary Expectation: $82,506-$92,819 annual salary (Note: The salary will commensurate based on education and occupational experience).

LOCATION: Lakeshore College - Cleveland, Wisconsin
POSITION SUMMARY: The Executive Director of the Lakeshore College Foundation is responsible for projecting Lakeshore College and the Lakeshore College Foundation's professional image to the public while overseeing, developing, and implementing strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward annual, major, and planned gifts from constituents to support the missions of the Foundation and Lakeshore College. This position reports to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement. As an important member of the Institutional Advancement team, the ED has operational responsibility for donor fundraising and alumni development activities that directly support Lakeshore College's strategic priorities. Provide an exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers throughout every interaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned):
(50%) Foundation Management
- Lead expansion of the Foundation's initiatives to increase overall giving; build trusting relationships with stakeholders to expand current and planned gift initiatives.
- Oversee Foundation functions, including board development, alumni relations, scholarship administration, recognition activities, and major and planned gift fundraising initiatives.
- Create and strengthen strategic partnerships that advance the college's mission and its impact.
- Partner with college staff and departments for enhanced collaboration, understanding, and promotion of all programs to internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee the Lakeshore College Foundation's non-profit, 501(c)3 status; ensure that all legal obligations to continue nonprofit status are maintained.
- Serve as a spokesperson in the community to the college's external constituents.
- Coordinate Foundation marketing efforts with the Marketing/Communications department.
- Manage Foundation budgets, including fundraising targets and goals.
- Work with the Foundation's nonprofit board of directors to set objectives and manage a strategic fundraising plan annually.
- Supervise the Development Specialist to ensure timely gift entry and foundation accounting is complete.
- Oversee the Foundation's scholarship award process with assistance from the Development Specialist.
- Oversee annual audits of the Foundation's finances.
(20%) Strategic Fundraising
- Manage fundraising campaigns, including annual fund drives, student assistance, capital, and specialty campaigns, etc.
- Conceive, write, and edit fundraising proposals to corporations, associations, foundations, and individuals to support college priorities.
- Set annual fundraising goals with the VP of Institutional Advancement.
(20%) Donor Prospect Management
- Investigate the financial/biographical status of individuals, corporations, and foundations using data software.
- Develop and maintain a prospect list with annual goals for frequency of interaction and dollars raised.
- Coordinate development activities and manage a personal portfolio of 100+ major gift prospects and donors to ensure timely steps are taken toward solicitation, gift closure, and stewardship.
- Plan and conduct travel as needed qualify and cultivate donors.
- Meet regularly with the VP of Institutional Advancement and advancement staff members, deans, program managers, faculty, and volunteers to develop/review strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors.
- Position front-line colleagues (Workforce Development, faculty, managers, etc.) for success in relationships with donors, potential donors, volunteers, and other supporters.
- Complete and file thorough reports of all contacts promptly using donor management or CRM software provided by the organization.
- Oversee that all gifts are accurately allocated following donor wishes and recorded according to Foundation policy and IRS regulations.
(10%) Alumni Engagement
- Create and implement an alumni engagement program; maintain an active social media presence in coordination with Lakeshore's marketing and communications team.
- Include active use of resources such as Distinguished Alum, former Student Ambassadors, Student Life, and other groups.
- Act as Director for Alumni Development - research best strategies, create a comprehensive alumni engagement plan; and evaluate the plan yearly.
MANAGER ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the direction, coordination, supervision, and performance management of team members.
- Set clear expectations by establishing roles, responsibilities and setting goals for team members.
- Monitor and assess performance, holding team members accountable, and providing ongoing feedback.
- Provide guidance and support through training, mentoring, and open communication.
- Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the College's policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure cohesive college operations.
- Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise in a timely manner.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment encouraging teamwork, recognizing achievements, and promoting inclusivity.
- Develop team members by identifying strengths, creating development plans, and offering growth opportunities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master's degree from a regionally accredited university or college in business administration, organizational leadership, or other related discipline required.
- Five years or more experience with fundraising and/or nonprofit management serving in progressive leadership roles required.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:
- CFRE (certified fundraising executive) preferred.
